Hi everyone! I’ve just released Frame Data Kit, a small paid Aseprite extension published through Morselware.

I wanted a way to keep collision data alongside the actual sprite animations instead of managing hitboxes separately.

With Frame Data Kit, you can draw hitboxes, hurtboxes and pushboxes on dedicated layers inside your .aseprite file, then export their per-frame positions and metadata as JSON or CSV.

It includes:

- Hitbox, hurtbox and pushbox layers, plus custom box types.
- Multiple collision boxes per animation frame.
- Animation tags, frame durations and pivot data.
- Startup, active and recovery timing summaries.
- Damage and hitstun metadata assigned to cels.
- Command-line exports for automated workflows.
- A Godot 4 helper and working hit-detection demo.

The extension uses axis-aligned rectangular boxes. Combat properties are exported as data, not implemented as a complete combat system.

It’s been tested with Windows 11, Steam Aseprite 1.3.18.6 and Godot 4.7.2. Other versions and platforms haven’t been fully verified.

The software was developed with AI assistance and independently reviewed and tested. The demo pixel art was created using scripted pixel maps.

Available on [itch.io](http://itch.io) for $4:

I’d love feedback from anyone using Aseprite for fighting games, beat-'em-ups, or other 2D action games, especially if you run into compatibility issues or have suggestions for improving the workflow!
