Sugiero que al cerrar un archivo se guarde la posición del canvas, su nivel de zoom y toda la configuración tal y como estaba en el momento de cerrarlo.
De modo que cuando vuelva a abrirse el archivo todo será configurado tal y como estaba en el momento de cerrarlo.
Me refiero a:
Posición de la ventana preview, su nivel de zoom y su tamaño.
Posición del canvas y su nivel de zoom.
Además de cualquier otro detalle que tenga que ver con el estado de UI cuando se cerró el archivo.
