Sometimes I’m drawing something static like a landscape or something where I only have one frame but many layers, in which case I like having the timeline on the right. But then, if I get bored, and decide to switch over to an animation for a character or something like that with only a few layers but far more frames, I have to reposition it to the bottom. So can there be an option to have seperate timeline positions for each piece? Thanks.

Hi @URAblob, there are plans for this. Some work to customize the layout was made (Add layouts + dockable UI by dacap · Pull Request #3485 · aseprite/aseprite · GitHub) which should allow to have a different layout for each sprite (with different timeline position/size).
