Altering mask size without altering content underneath

For some reason, I like to alter mask sizes but when I try to do it, aseprite always scales the pixels underneath as well.

Is there a recommended way to alter mask shapes / sizes without altering the pixels underneath?

I found a couple of silly ways like dragging the mask off to the side and altering there, but it’s not a good method, lol.

Hi @leeincm,

You can add to, subtract from or form intersections with selection masks. There are some pictures and more details in the Aseprite documentation. You can also go to Select > Modify for options to expand, contract or form a border from the selection. Select > Color Range allows you to create selections of colors; the command includes the same add, subtract and intersect options as the selection tool.

Cheers,
Jeremy
