I was making a tutorial on choosing colors today when it occurred to me that people would be far less confused about shifting hue if the hue selector in software was formatted like this.
The default one in all software starts with red and loops, which makes it less visually obvious how you can easily shift between hot and cool colors.
The only downside is that it would no longer visually match the hue format of 0 being red, however the bars would still be the same when you click on the bar and look at HSV, so I think it would be worth it to consider something like this as a default, or at the very least an option.
