APNG Support for Aseprite

I believe with the now much wider browser adoption for APNG, and its significant advantages over GIF, APNG support would be a welcome addition to Aseprite. If anything, it would at the very least be desirable to be able to open APNG files properly (i.e. proper population of the timeline just like with GIF files), even if it means “flattening” the animation metadata to fit to the Aseprite timeline. I don’t see this topic being discussed as much, but I feel it would be a very useful feature to add to Aseprite. Thoughts?

Hi Frank, there is this issue where you can follow the progress of APNG support:

Recently was commented that libpng is going to incorporate APNG support so we hope to have support for animated PNGs soon.
