Aseprite Launches as Background Process Only

I just purchased Aesprite and as soon as I downloaded and installed it, I noticed that it wouldn’t launch.

At first I was confused, not sure if it was still loading or if there’s just a small window somewhere I’m missing.
After waiting a while and opening task manager I concluded that the program was stuck in backround processes.

I’ve had this happen before with past programs (can’t recall which - long ago) and never knew how to solve.
I’m not even completely certain that this is an Aseprite issue or an issue with my drivers/OS.

I tried everything that was obvious to try from my perspective.

  • Restarted Steam and the program multiple times
  • Try the Non-Steam version
  • Restart Windows
  • Enable/Disable Beta - Try both Stable and Beta
  • Enabled the --Debug launch option and read the resulting .txt file to try and determine anything

Debug in question:

So basically I tried everything I could think of. I don’t believe anyone else has complained or something like this before but I can’t figure out the exact phrasing to search. Debug appears fine to my eyes, though unsure.

Kind of a bummer I can’t use the program at all basically so posting here for possible assistance.

Using Windows 10 and think I’m using Aseprite v1.1.13 since I just installed it - also happens on the BETA.

Hi @StargazingTwilan, sorry for the delay about this issue, it looks related to a problem with the Wacom driver. There are some users that reported something similar but it is generally solved with a Windows restart.

If you can always reproduce it, please contact me at support@aseprite.org

I’m leaving this link just as a reference that some buggy wintab32.dll can make several software fail:
