I have a suggestion that I think would make a huge difference: native autotiling for the Tilemap tool!
Right now in Aseprite, we have to place each tile on the map manually. For anyone making a quick mockup or building environments, this is really tedious and time-consuming. Sometimes, depending on the screen size, you can spend hours just arranging tiles one by one.
The real ideal would be to have a built-in autotile system. That way, I could just draw on the map, and Aseprite would automatically adjust the tiles, similar to how the autotiling plugin works in Unity and other engines. This would speed up the workflow immensely and take a huge load off our shoulders!
Thanks for your advice. This feature was requested sometime ago (2018😬): Autotile Editor · Issue #1722 · aseprite/aseprite · GitHub
I imagine drawing on a tilemap layer, with blocks of uniform color, each entry in the color palette representing a different material. Each tileset entry (i.e., each material) should somehow correspond to a separate Aseprite file containing the tiles with the final material look combinations to be represented in the map (the tiles in the tileset must be arranged in a specific way).
In real time, the output map should be generated in another tab using autotiling.
That would be great.

Sorry, I looked to see if there was any comment about this before and didn’t see anything here in the community. I also created another one about tilemap to be able to make it look nice on the left side so it doesn’t get confusing
