Since a recent update, the text tool changed. But it also removed the ability to add line breaks with [Enter] or [Shift]+[Enter].
It’s extremely annoying as it makes writing paragraphs simply much harder… Line breaks need to be brought back in a next patch, removing it was a huge oversight.
Also I did try it with both the text tool and the menu option Edit>Insert Text. Both tools don’t support line breaks anymore.
So are you ever going to add it? This and countless other primitive basic features that should be there but arent. Cant do a line break, cant create a tilemap to use on another file.
This would be such a great feature and would open up new possibilities for Aseprite to be used as a design tool. I started creating a multi lined introduction in text format and also realized we have no line break. It’s fairly simple to copy paste the text to the right place but doing so needs a lot of manual adjustment as there is no way to set the start of text at the same spot (unless you zoom in and start from the same spot).
Another great function would be the alignment of the text. It’s fairly easy to make it centered by manually moving the text but of course it would be a breeze with these two functions to write longer texts and set them up.
To be honest I have never missed these functions but now when I use aseprite for nearly everything it would be quite nice to be able to also handle the text a little better.
To contradict sdmg here I think that tools being primitive makes them so usable.
