Aseprite Timelapse records the sprite you are working on from inside Aseprite and exports the timelapse as MP4, WebM or GIF. ffmpeg is bundled for Mac and Windows, so there is nothing else to install and no OBS.
How it works: press Start (or turn on Auto-record in the full version) and it takes a snapshot every couple of seconds. Identical frames are dropped, so time spent thinking or in menus disappears from the video. Frames are plain PNGs in Documents/AsepriteTimelapse///, nothing is locked inside the tool.
The free version records, dedups and exports to all three formats with an Auto size that fits 1080p, and ends with a short “Made with Aseprite Timelapse” card. The full version ($5) adds Auto-record that follows the active tab, sessions that survive quitting, pause/resume, manual sizes and social presets (1080p, Square, Vertical, 4K), and Build Animation, which turns a session into an editable Aseprite animation.
