How do I select a certain part of my drawing and move it to a new layer?

I want to select certain body parts of my character and move them to individual layers, but don’t know how.

Hi there! You can use the Magic Wand tool (W key) or Lasso tool (Q key):

To select a body part of one layer, cut it (Edit > Cut option or Ctrl+X key). Then you can create a new layer with Layer > New Layer (Shift+N key) or select the layer where you want to put the part, and paste it (Edit > Paste or Ctrl+V key).
