Your tree looks awesome, and your rock looks like a rock. :stuck_out_tongue: Might be a good idea to be consistent with your use of pixel borders. Your rock has a color border around it while the border of the tree has no border. It seems your sprites are in 16x16 tiles right? I would also suggest thinking about the substance of your pixel art. Your tree seems very box shaped and I would suggest having more curved lines and lighting for the leaves. So make sure you are purposefully using non curved lines whenever you want to make something look sharp. Here’s my fast edit… Doesn’t do yours justice but it has some things to think about. image

Hello. Well I can say if that’s the beginning of your journey, then you are off to a pretty good start!
You have some understanding of form/light and shadow so that’s good. Some minor things regarding the rock: Try to use the darker outline where the shadow is and lighter one on the light side. Also you should try using the same contrast you used on tree when it comes to rock highlights, might end up with nice and sharp edges! About the tree: Try not to focus on adding more stuff but trying cleaning up the shapes you already have. In the crown of your there there are these HUGE squares that give off the messy vibe. Work them into more organic shapes and clump them together more so the eye have spots to focus on and other spots to rest. Cheers and keep on pixeling :slight_smile: .
