Sometimes when pasting, the program places the pasted image to a new layer at the very top of my layers. Im assuming this is a bug?
it depends ;] are you sure you didn’t copy the layer instead of content of the cel?
I don’t think so? I just selected a layer then a cel just to test that idea and, nope it just acted normal.
this is a common issue when learning to use Aseprite as I did it all the time and it is exactly what Olga said. Make sure ONLY the cell bubble is highlighted. If the layer is highlighted, youll copy the whole layer instead. Also a really easy way to do part of an animation (typically a complex part) on one file to reduce layers while youre working and then combine it with the rest
