Ok this is the updated thread on the old one @ Lag on internal windows
Basically the internal windows lag and are generally hard to use on Linux. I have no problem on the same computer in Windows though. According to the old thread, this issue was reported all the way back in version 1.2.25, but it persists to the latest stable version (I have not tried beta). I did not want to necro-post so I recreated it.
EDIT 1: Here are my specs:
Computer: Dell Optiplex 3020
# of Cores: 4
CPU: Intel Core i5-4570
GPU Type: Integrated
GPU Model: Intel HD 4600
RAM: 16GB
OS: Zorin OS 16.1 (Ubuntu 20.04 Variant)
Skia: Compiled from branch m102
Aseprite: Compiling branch v1.2.39
EDIT 2: This doesn’t seem to be an issue in 1.3-beta20. I am gonna try to find the specific commit which fixed this and then apply the changes to main.

the issue is tracked on Performance issues on Linux · Issue #3119 · aseprite/aseprite · GitHub but it doesn’t seem to be updated to relate to the latest beta.
