Lighten/Darken tool?

I know this was asked about a long time ago and know that we have the shading tool - I was just wondering if I overlooked brush modes specifically Lighten and Darken (instead of layer modes) as a feature? I ask because if I have, for instance, black lineart, and start painting in details, I’d like to paint under those black edges, which are all a part of the same layer.

those just arent good, they are beginners traps, all those do is multiply with black and overlay with white, you are 100 better off selecting the shading tool, selecting the color ramp you want to use, not include black in it, and then just paiting over the lighter and darker shades.
