Linux/KDE Desktop: V1.3 RC2. ctrl+<somekey> does not work

I installed the beta on my Kubuntu and I am finding the ctrl+“somekey” will not work. For Example I cannot do CTRL+Z to undo., but I can undo via the Edit Menu. When I press ctrl I see a selection to drag the image around with the mouse instead, but I cannot press Z for example to undo.

Is there something I can do in preferences to change the behavior so ctrl+“somekey” will work?
