Making select and drag work on multiple layers

I feel like this is a key missing functionality. Has it been discussed elsewhere, or is there a reason why it’s difficult to implement?

To clarify, I mean select multiple layers > lasso select > click on the area and drag > moves that section of all layers.

it’s the other way around: first make a selection and then select the layers / cels you want to edit.
note that the preview will show edit only on current layer until you finish the action.

Mid 2026 and this is still unbelievably unintuitive. Took me an hour to figure this out. This is what worked for me:

How to Copy Multiple Selections Across Different Layers

  1. Use Marquee to select elements
  2. Shift + Click to select the layers with said elements
  3. Click your selection
  4. Hold Ctrl, then click and drag where you want to copy the selection (only one layer will be visible as others have mentioned)
  5. Press ENTER.

I hope this helps others save some time and headache. There is no reason this should be so tedious. Too bad we can’t tag the dev in the forum. :weary_face:
