Saving custom brushes

I don’t know if this is a bug or just something I’m doing wrong, so I’m asking here first.

After I create a custom brush with ctrl-b, I go up to the brushes drop down and click “Save Brush Here”. However, the next time I open that same Aseprite file, all of my custom brushes are usually gone and I need to create them all over again.

Just wondering if there is a step I’m missing. It would be great to be able to save custom brushes as “brush files” which can be loaded on start, like GIMP does. That would make them easier to share, too!

after you create a brush with ctrl+b you don’t need to use “save brush here”. just make sure the option “locked” is on, otherwise aseprite won’t store the brush for the next session.

oh yeah, brush sets would be neat.
