Show a tooltip/indicator/floating label about the active layer where we are going to draw/edit

Hi, I do not know if this happens to many people but it happens to me too often.
My problem is that most of the times I draw on the wrong layer, I must erase and change the layer and start again.
It happens to me too often and it’s a problem for me.

Then, for example, I have to modify the head, then I select the head layer and modify it, then I start to modify the body but I do it in the head layer and it happens again!

Is there any way to put the name of the active layer on the canvas?
That is, the name of the active layer appears in some way on the canvas to know at all times what is the active layer without having to look at the layer window.
