I’ve been practicing my walk cycle using CLAIR_DE_LUNE advice from a month ago and it looks like this
Hi. Animator here. So, you really only need 4 frames for a walk cycle - 2 ups, and 2 downs.
Aka 2 passing positions, and 2 contacts.
It goes: contact, passing, contact, passing. Loop.
The body and head should be at their lowest point on the contact positions, and the body and head should be higher on the passing positions.
In the example above @DeeDev, you have the head up on one contact, and the head down on one contact. Which makes it look like the character has a limp. Also the back leg needs to ‘push’ off further back.
Here, just copy the CONTACT and PASS POSITION frames. This is from Richard Williams’ ‘The Animator’s Survival Kit’ (it’s excellent)
