Subpixel animation plugin

Hey all, I’m working on a plugin for subpixel animation. I want to take an aseprite animation and generate more frames using subpixels automatically. I’ve built a buggy prototype, but I think it proves the idea can work. Is anyone else interested in something like this?

Sorry I had to do 2 posts because it only allows one image per post.

Demo update. The incredible Kercy (X, bsky) gave me permission to post their original “Superman 2025” and the version that I created from it using the subpixel plugin.

I’ve had a few people reach out on Discord recently about the progress of this plugin.

I’ve paused development until I can find someone in the pixel art community who has a following that I can partner with in a revenue-share situation. I don’t want to spend the more time wrapping it up unless there is clear plan to market it so that the most people know about it. If you think you can help with this, please contact me.

I’m interesting in paying for this for use with my fighting game. Please reach out with a price or needs in order for you to release so I can join efforts.

I believe you’re objective correct me if I’m wrong should be to make it so that it’s hosted on the server that registers whether the person is paid the monthly revenue for his use. No payment plug-in stops working. Look into pixel labs and how they plug-in works because if you had it set up that way, I’d gladly pay my first month fee right now to own this for the month so I can edit all my animations to look more smoother.

I personally feel if you at least build the subscription platform for people to download the plug-in. Add it, and then have the plug-in verify if they paid for the month it would inspire the pixel artist you’re looking for to utilize the platform thus giving you a high level of popularity and generating sales.

I was just going to host it on itch.io or gumroad, one time purchase. It might be nice to have recurring subscription, but it’s not really practical given that the source code for plugins is easy to inspect.

My main concern is ROI. It’s usable by me right now, but to make it user friendly to other people, a substantial amount of work needs to be done. If that results in only 5 sales, it’s not really worth the effort to take it that last mile. So I need to partner with someone who can help market it.

Willing to share 30% of revenue with an artist who can market it, 15% of revenue with the person who makes a successful connection with the artist.

i’ll be honest with you you’re gonna get more than five sales dude. As long as it’s not at a price point, that’ll make people shy away from it. You’re gonna make more money.

I literally just purchased hair sprites for my game right now and that’s literally the issue. I’m having right now.

Not to mention, I’m thinking about how it can be used in other fashions too like fighting animations

You might be assuming that I’m willing to do the marketing work to let everyone know about it. I don’t have time for that, which is why I’m looking for a partnership only.

Oh of course. Definitely not assuming that lol

To be honest, I’m speaking of a place of interest

Marketing is definitely a big part when it comes to trying to commercialize it

I can’t wait to see what happens

When it’s ready, I know I’m buying it lol
