There is difference between github and steam Aseprite?

I have been using Aseprite compiled from github and i did loved the tool. So i bought in steam but somebody told me that github and steam version are not the same.
If this is true, where can i see the difference?

You have to pay for the Steam version, that’s the main difference.

Steam gets the stable releases, whereas on Github you can compile WIP code to preview unfinished features.

There are minor differences in the Steam build to accommodate the Steam library (to e.g. allow Steam to track your time spent running Aseprite), but no differences in features. Both are portable, as well.
