i’ve just got aseprite after MONTHS of wanting it, and i’m trying to get into the habit of using transparent backgrounds just so they can be png gifs in the long run but
is there any way to modify the transparent background? since the checker-board pattern is rather harsh on the eyes and difficult to sketch on
(unless there’s a way to change the background option in an already created file, then that would do)
Personally in my working file I just create a background layer with a fill that is easily distinguishable from the rest of my palette.
Turn it off when exporting for transparent background in my output.

You can change the checked background options (size/color) from Edit > Preferences > Background.
