I have a licensing question; is it acceptable to terminate a file conversion endpoint with logic that takes an upload .ase and runs the exporter cli as a step? I ask because I have a compact animation format that uses protobuf to make Aseprite exports easier to ship around, and I’d really like to make the level editor I’m building ingest Aseprite files directly from a user experience perspective.
Hi @Uncommented, it might be depend on the specific use case because some code is protected under the EULA. If in your case is to decode (or encode) .aseprite files, it shouldn’t be a problem, but contact me at david@igara.com with the details about your commercial service, so I can give you an OK via email (and you can keep record of the license usage).
