Why doesn't alt work as quick eyedrop tool? only I key does

so when I hold down left alt, the eyedrop icon does appear, but even though I click on a pixel, the selected color doesn’t change.

when pressing I, however, the same icon appears and the color does change when I click on a given pixel.

But that’s not so practical as I have to press the B key to go back to brush tool

check which mode your eyedrop tool is in alt, also check your where your sample is being picked, i use hsv + alpha and current layer, if changing those dont work them i would like to see a video of the problem.
