Why is a Triangle in the Bottom Right Corner of One Color Swatch?

I noticed that there is always one color swatch with a triangle in the bottom right corner. What is the purpose of this triangle symbol?

hi! that’s aseprite telling you which swatch is your current background colour. foreground colour also has the triangle - in the upper left corner.
