Nothing against 8bit values but could there be a possibility to have the opacity as 0-100 instead of 0-256?
Because it really takes some math to do exact transparencies (like 25% or 75%)

What about having both of them? A preference thingy. Some people prefer using 0-255 after all.

Yeah, I guess the opacity should have both options available (don’t know what should be the default one).

I would suggest a third option (maybe the default one?) that shows both values at the same time.
something like: “Opacity: 255 (100%)”
It seems that space wouldn’t be a problem for doing this, and everybody will be happy even if they don’t know there is an option for showing only their preferred one

I would add a text box (if possible) to enter the number so you can operate faster.
